Meeting of Les Rencontres Philosophiques de Monaco: “Dreams”

A new meeting on the topic of “Dreams” is organized by Les Rencontres Philosophiques de Monaco on Thursday 16 March 2023, from 7 pm to 9 pm, Théâtre Princesse Grace.

One wonders why dreams are always drawn towards escaping from reality. What if, on the contrary, we looked upon dreams as a way in, a chance to enlighten the obscurities of a reality that cannot be reduced merely to a rational understanding? As the daring partner of imagination, perhaps a dream is capable of showing us previously unsuspected “plans” of reality, in the same way that by casting our gaze far into the distance – what one might describe as utopically – we can better discern the qualities and shortcomings of that which is right in front of us. Let us rediscover the virtues of utopia. Let us dare to dream!
