Monaco Spring Arts Festival (“Printemps des Arts”): Clarinet in All its Glory by Alain Billard, Alain Damiens, Michel Lethiec and Chiaki Tsunaba, clarinets, Shuichi Okada, violin, Ieva Sruogyté, viola, Bumjun Kim, cello, Maki Belkin, piano and Anja Behrend, dance on Saturday 7 April, at 8.30 pm Yacht Club de Monaco.
The students of the Rainier III Music Academy and the regional conservatories will play Klezmer music at the beginning and at the end of the concert.
Agile, muffled or rhythmic, the clarinet fully merits this night. This instrument has existed for 250 years and all composers have been inspired by it. So, what better than to re-unite the extended family of clarinettists, from the classics to Klezmer.
On the programme: Krzysztof Eugeniusz Penderecki, Igor Stravinsky, Alban Berg, Franco Donatoni, Luciano Berio, Gérard Grisey and Johannes Brahms
