Monte-Carlo Spring Arts Festival (“Printemps des Arts”): concert by talented young performers by the pupils of the Rainier III Academy and regional music conservatories, Bumjun Kim, cello and Théo Fouchenneret, piano on Wednesday 28 March, at 8.30 pm Tunnel Riva.
On the programme: Portrait by Yan Maresz, Johann-Sebastien Bach, Claude Debussy, George Crumb and Dmitri Shostakovich
At twenty-three years of age, Bumjun Kim surprises with his maturity: with his cello he knows how to create a colourful and sensitive world which would normally be found with the masters. With him, it’s all internal drive and pure inspiration. Born in Korea, he grew up in France and appears to be one of the most incredible cellists of his generation.
