Souterraine, a performance-tour by Louise Hervé

Souterraine is a performance-tour by Louise Hervé, presented by the Nouveau Musée National de Monaco at the Grotte de l’Observatoire (Exotic Garden of Monaco) as part of the “Visiteurs du Soir, Autumn 2026 Contemporary Art Festival”, organised by the Botox(s) network on Friday, October 2 at 5:00 pm.

The Grotte de l’Observatoire involves a descent of 300 steps along fault lines, across stalagmite-covered floors, and between the walls of tunnels blasted out by dynamite.

Petrified within the strata of time, one encounters traces of human and non-human life, catalogued and uncatalogued collections, ever-changing light displays, celebrations, and an underground utopia.

Here, in the cavern, one feels at home: what one cannot see, one can imagine.
