Monaco Hosts the XIIIth Rencontres Internationales: Monaco, Ulysses and the Mediterranean
On 5 and 6 March 2026, the Oceanographic Museum of Monaco welcomed scholars, historians, philosophers and artists from across Europe and the Mediterranean for the 13th edition of the Rencontres Internationales Monaco et la Méditerranée (RIMM). Organized by the Association Monégasque pour la Connaissance des Arts (AMCA) under the High Patronage of H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco, the biennial event once again positioned the Principality as a meeting point for intellectual exchange around Mediterranean culture and heritage.
This year’s theme, “With Ulysses Through All Times”, offered an ambitious exploration of one of the most enduring figures of Mediterranean imagination. Over two days of conferences and round tables, specialists examined how the Homeric hero continues to shape literature, art, philosophy and contemporary thought.
Cherry Blossoms in Concrete: Monaco’s Sakura Prepares to Sprout

On Boulevard du Larvotto, a new silhouette is preparing to take its place in the skyline. Its name is Sakura, a whisper of Japan carried into the geometry of concrete.
Before the sketches, before the demolition dust, before the cranes, there was an exchange.
In April 2025, Monaco’s National Council approved the reallocation of a 305 m² public parcel along Boulevard du Larvotto. The land passed into private hands, entrusted to J.B. Pastor & Fils, unlocking the future “Sakura” development.
Fontvieille: Sculpture Path Garden is getting a Makeover

The Jardin du Chemin des Sculptures, located in the heart of the Fontvieille district, is undergoing a landscaping redesign by the firm Grant & Associates. The project aims to gradually transform the passageway into a greener, shadier, and better living space, suited for everyday use.
Since 2021, the area has undergone significant and necessary waterproofing work, carried out by the State Property Administration. Now, the Sculpture Path Garden is entering its landscaping phases.
