The Department of Education, Youth and Sport is currently accepting applications for both study grants and social advancement grants for the 2025-2026 academic year.
Applications must be submitted before 2 pm on Friday 26 September 2025 for study grants; and before the course start date for social advancement grants.
Who is eligible?
For a study grant, applicants must be under 28 years of age. For a social advancement grant, applicants must be under 50 years of age.
According to the Princely Government, many people are eligible for these grants.
“To be eligible for a study grant or a social advancement grant, candidates must be a Monegasque national, the spouse of a Monegasque national, a foreign national who is financially dependent on a Monegasque national, a foreign national who is a dependent or orphan of an employee working for the Monegasque State or Commune, an employee of a public body or a French agency established in Monaco by Treaty for at least five years, whether you are still working or retired (this category does not apply to social advancement grants), or a resident of Monaco for at least 10 years without interruption,” states a recent press release by the Princely Government.
Calculation of the amount of the grant
The amount of the grant is calculated according to several criteria, notably: Family resources; The type, nature and cost of the course; The status of the candidate (full time, employee, apprentice).
Launched in 2022, in collaboration with the Digital Transition Office as part of the Extended Monaco program, the online applications for these grants are extremely popular with users, with almost 95% of applications made online. Online applications can be made via the MonGuichet.mc portal.
Paper forms are also available from the Department of Education, Youth and Sports (5, promenade Honoré II, Monaco).
