On Wednesday, October 8, the Michelin Guide held its first global Michelin Keys 2025 awards ceremony in Paris, unveiling the latest distinctions for hotels worldwide. Among the highlights of the evening: the Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo has once again been awarded the maximum three Michelin Keys, reaffirming its status as an icon of Monegasque luxury and service.

A Night of Distinction: The Michelin Keys Go Global

What began in 2024 as a novel hotel classification has now evolved into a fully global program. The Michelin Keys, often described as the hotel equivalent of Michelin stars, recognize outstanding lodging experiences across five domains: architecture and design, service quality and consistency, personality and character, value for money, and a meaningful contribution to the locale or environment.

In the 2025 edition, Michelin inspectors reviewed more than 7,000 hotels. Ultimately, 143 of them received the top score of three Keys, described as representing an “extraordinary stay”, a level of comfort, style, and service that justifies making the hotel a destination in its own right.

Among the total recipients, 572 hotels achieved two Keys and 1,742 received one Key.

Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo: A Consummate Return

For the second consecutive year, the Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo retains the full three Keys.   This singular distinction in Monaco underscores the hotel’s unique positioning in the principality’s hospitality landscape.

During the awards evening, the Hôtel de Paris was celebrated among the 24 properties in France (including Monaco) to be granted three Keys.

In the words of Stéphane Valeri, Deputy Chairman of Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer:

“I am very happy and proud to see the Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo once again recognized by the Michelin Guide. This distinction honors not only the historic and iconic hotel on the Place du Casino, but also the excellence of its teams, led since September 29 by Louis Starck. These three Michelin Keys reflect the values upheld by Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer in terms of luxury and excellence.”

Thus, the Hôtel de Paris solidifies its place not just as Monaco’s premier palace, but as one of the world’s most elite hotel addresses.

Hôtel de Paris: Enshrining the Art of Hospitality

The Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo is more than just a gilded façade. It combines historic gravitas with modern luxury. A recent renovation handled by Richard Martinet and Pierre-Yves Rochon preserved the Belle Époque heritage while weaving in contemporary touches.

Its strategic location on the Place du Casino places guests at the heart of Monaco’s glamour. The hotel also benefits from access to the Thermes Marins Monte-Carlo spa, rooftop “Sky Club” wellness spaces, and a link to a beach club extension.

Culinary excellence is woven through the property. The hotel is home to Le Louis XV – Alain Ducasse, a three-Michelin-starred restaurant under the stewardship of chef Alain Ducasse.   It also hosts Le Grill, offering sweeping panoramas.

Furthermore, the Hôtel de Paris holds one of the most remarkable wine cellars in the hotel world: over 350,000 bottles, representing thousands of vintages from across France.

It is precisely the confluence of all these features, sublime design, enviable location, exceptional gastronomy, impeccable service, and heritage that helps explain the renewal of its three-Key status.
