1. Symphony spotted in Monaco

101.5m Symphony has been recently spotted in Monaco. The superyacht was delivered in May 2015 and then went on cruising the Mediterranean for her inaugural summer charter season. She is the first Feadship yacht to exceed the 100-metre mark, surpassing the builder’s previous flagship, 99-metre Madame Gu.

2. Genting Group: The entrance of a new giant from Asia into yachting

Malaysia-based entertainment conglomerate, Genting Group has increased its ownership stake in Italian shipyard, Wider to a 100% through its cruise line arm, Genting Hong Kong, expanding its interests in the yachting space further.

Established by Tilli Antonelli, former CEO of Pershing (acquired by Ferretti Group), Wider Yachts was established in 2010 with first a 13-meter model, the Wider 42, whose prime selling point became the extendable platform located amidst ship.

Genting’s involvement with Wider however began back in December 2012 when the conglomerate made an investment in the Italian shipyard via a capital increase that saw it gain a 50% stake in the company. “I decided to back Wider as I was impressed both with its course of development and its ability to establish itself on the international market.” commented Genting’s chairmain, Tan Sri Lim Kok Thay at the time of the investment.

 

The Malaysian group’s interests in yachting do not limit themselves to Wider Yachts as Genting Group owned a 24,85% stake in Grand Banks Yachts in December 2014 as well as a 15% stake in luxury submarine manufacturer U-Boat worx. Regulatory fillings in December 2014 valued the group’s yachting interest, including its share in Wider, at just under $38 million.

3. Benetti sells 47m superyacht FB703

Benetti has sold FB703, a new 47m custom superyacht with a displacement steel hull and superstructure in aluminium. FB703 will be part of Benetti’s Custom collection, the line dedicated to owners who want to be able to personalize their yacht completely, right down to the last detail, without sacrificing the shipyard’s style. The exterior design and naval architecture of this superyacht will be designed by in-house team while the interiors will be by the Mexican designer Mauricio Gómez de Tuddo, who is collaborating with Benetti for the first time on this project.

4. Couach reveals designs for new 3700 sport model

French yacht builder Chantier Naval Couach has released the first visuals of its newly reimagined 37-metre superyacht.

The 3700 Sport takes design cues from the world of luxury automobiles as well as contemporary architecture and naval design. It is available in a four- or five-cabin arrangement, complemented by ample glazing to amplify the interior’s natural light. The large main saloon, incorporating lounging and dining areas, offers a feeling of space for a sport yacht, with accommodation for up to 10 guests tended to by six crew.

5. Lady Lara spotted in Rhodes, Greece

91m megayacht Lady Lara, owned by Kazakh billionaire Alexander Machkevitch, has been spotted in Rhodes, Greece. Launched in April and delivered in November 2015, she embarked her first sea trials in July.

Built by Lurssen, the yacht features the exterior and interior design from Reymond Langton. Lady Lara’s alluring amenities include VIP suites with fold down balconies, a large beach club, a gym, Jacuzzi, a swimming pool and a helipad.
