The AS Monaco Roca Team has launched into the Betclic Elite semi-finals with all the drama and intensity you’d expect from a championship contender. One loss, one massive win — and now, with the series tied 1-1, Monaco returns home with momentum on their side and two crucial games ahead. Let the show begin.

Villeurbanne 94‑74 Monaco: A Rough Start

On Tuesday, June 4th , Monaco struggled in Game 1, falling 94-74 to ASVEL in Lyon. The home team came out blazing, leading 31-21 after just 10 minutes. Monaco made a game of it fighting well for the rest of the first half levelling the game, after which they even took a short lead which sadly quickly evaporated. Turnovers piled up, rhythm was missing, and Monaco only managed 29 points in the second half. It was a wake-up call — and the Roca Team knew they’d have to bounce back, fast.

A Fierce Response: 94‑77 Victory

And bounce back they did! Just 48 hours later, on Thursday, June 6th , Monaco turned the tables in stunning fashion. Monaco was firmly in charge by half-time leading 47–28 then finishing with a commanding 94-77 win that showed off their true potential.

• Strazel, Papagiannis and Cornelie allscored with flair

• Yakuba Ouattara, Alpha Diallo, and Jaron Blossomgame locked in defensively.

• And Élie Okobo? Ice cold with a buzzer-beater step-back three at halftime.

The spark was back. The team energy was back. And so was the belief.

A Tale of Two Faces: Mental Strength on Display

This series is already proving how unpredictable — and thrilling — playoff basketball can be.
• In Game 1: Monaco looked scattered and passive, missing the suspended Mike James and lacking the usual dominance of Daniel Theis.
• In Game 2: They came out hungry, sharp, and focused, with head coach Vassilis Spanoulis getting the best out of his bench and starters alike.

The shift was clear: Monaco refused to back down.

Coming Up – Game 3 & 4 at Home in Monaco

Now, with the series tied 1-1, the Roca Team heads back to their fortress: Salle Gaston Médecin.
• Sunday, June 8th: Game 3, with fans ready to light up the arena.
• (Potentially) Tuesday: Game 4, which could be decisive.

Playing in Monaco gives the team a real edge — and with confidence riding high after Thursday’s win, the timing couldn’t be better.

Confidence Is Building

The momentum has clearly shifted back to Monaco: this was echoed just about everywhere after Game 2. In just one night, the Roca Team reminded everyone why they were one of the top contenders all season. Grit, talent, and intensity — all firing at the right time.

Now It’s All About Execution even if this semi-final isn’t over. It’s only just heating up. Monaco has shown they can take a hit — and strike back harder. The next chapter is about to be written, and if Game 2 was any indication, the Roca Team is ready to turn this semi-final into a royal performance.

Get ready. The fight is on — and it’s coming home. Go Roca!
