Among the most famous tales, there is one work that, throughout the ages, entertains us as much as it makes us think: the celebrated Fables of La Fontaine.
Although they appear to be lighthearted stories populated by cunning animals, these short narratives conceal much deeper messages. Jean de La Fontaine drew inspiration from ancient fables to critique the flaws of humankind and the injustices of his time.
Whether it’s the vain Crow or the Wolf in search of food, each character conveys an important lesson.
These fables are often taught to children because they impart easy-to-understand moral lessons while helping them develop their critical thinking skills.
