Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo: “Cinderella”

Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo will perform “Cinderella” on stage of the Salle Garnier Opéra de Monte-Carlo from Tuesday 18 at 7:30 pm, to Thursday 20 July 2023.

In his version of Cinderella, Jean-Christophe Maillot uses the context of a blended family where grief is impossible to create vain and idle characters attempting to exist in a world dripping in artifice. The choreographer juxtaposes this universe with the naked simplicity of Cinderella. Her bare foot becomes the symbolic centre of the ballet and celebrates a part of the body without which dance could not exist.
