Monte-Carlo Spring Arts Festival: opening concert

Monte-Carlo Spring Arts Festival: opening concert on Friday 15 March 2019, at 8.30 pm Auditorium Rainier III.

On the programme: Mauricio Kagel by Jean-Baptiste Bonnard and Adélaïde Ferrière, percussion; Ludwig van Beethoven by the Sinfonia Varsovia conducted by François-Frédéric Guy, piano.

The integral of the Beethoven piano concertos in 2 nights (15 and 16 march)!

Beethoven’s five concertos encompass several worlds from the very classical first one to the last that breaks away from the usual form of the genre to explore a modern vision. Three concertos between the two extremes delve into the links between a soloist and a romantic orchestra. To appreciate all the subtleties of this relationship, there’s nothing like a complete version in two concerts and a pianist/conductor like François-Frédéric Guy: he lives and breathes this music with disconcerting ease and conducts from the piano.
