Monaco Art Week created an unforgettable curated cultural journey through the Principality from 7 to 12 July 2025. The 7th edition welcomed HRH Princess Alexandra of Hanover as their patron.

“The Principality’s galleries and auction houses join forces under the banner of Monaco Art Week, opening their doors to the public as part of an itinerary that invites the public to rediscover the streets of the Principality through art,” said Princess Alexandra.

The remarkable program included exhibitions at the Nouveau Musée National de Monaco, works from the Centre Pompidou at the Grimaldi Forum, and the international Art Monte-Carlo fair. A series of conferences during Art Monte-Carlo featured leading figures from the art world such as Patrizia Sandretto Re Rebaudengo, Tiqui Atencio and Simon de Pury, on July 8 and 9.

Encounters with artists and curators, conferences, and a diverse range of exhibitions from Old Masters to contemporary art, from modern works to fine jewellery creations, all made this year’s MAW particularly exceptional.

Let the art tour begin!

Let’s start our own tour of the MAW at the harbour, where the Hôtel des Ventes de Monte-Carlo launched its summer sales. Prestigious brands were on show, along with works by renowned artists such as Renoir, Alechinsky and Folon.

Walking up to the Monte-Carlo district, COLLECT|MC dedicated a solo show to Suska Bastian. A graduate of the Villa Arson based in Nice at La Station, the artist explores the boundaries between nature and culture, encouraging us to rethink the links between man and the environment.

At the Palais de la Scala, Elisabeth Lillo-Renner explored the theme of the male body. In the same space, Sotheby’s unveiled a preview of several major pieces from a prestigious Monegasque collection, prior to their sale at Sotheby’s Paris this autumn.

In the heart of Monte-Carlo, Artcurial displayed monumental sculptures for the ‘Monaco Sculptures’ sale. Works by Claude Lalanne, César, Baltasar Lobo, Tony Cragg, Manolo Valdés and Philippe Hiquily were on display. Following a remarkable €4 million result in July 2024, Monaco Sculptures had its sixth edition, in partnership with Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer. The major art event featured an exclusive auction and an immersive exhibition tour.

At One Monte-Carlo, Hauser & Wirth welcomed American artist Annie Leibovitz, who presented landscapes, still lifes and portraits produced over the past two decades. On the second floor of the Metropole Shopping Center, Teos Gallery Monte-Carlo spotlighted Street Art, with works by Mr Brainwash, Cedric Bouteiller, Marco Grassi, Christophe Biancheri, Alec Monopoly, Arpe One and Cipre.

Finally, at Larvotto, Kamil Art Gallery paid tribute to Vincent van Gogh through the works of Eric Massholder. In a vibrant language combining drawing, painting and sculpture, the Franco-German artist revisited the power of colour and the beauty of everyday life, offering a message of hope in a time of crisis.
