Art3f: the artistic creativity regained its throne in Monaco

Monegasques’ great taste for art, the expertise and the potentiality of its numerous collectors and the liveliness of its cultural events make Monaco the perfect place for an International Contemporary Art Fair that is both qualitative and accessible. Art3f opened its doors for the second edition in the Principality of Monaco from 27th to 29th August 2021 at the prestigious Chapiteau Fontvieille.

After the successful experience of last year, in spite of the strict sanitary measures, life must look forward to the future with optimism and Art is a good ‘medicine’. Art3f has been conceived as a clever mix of favourite pieces of art and the most beautiful artistic representations of the moment. But its key objective is to privilege the direct relationship between the artists and their public. With more than three thousand pieces of art on sale and about two hundred artists: art dealers, painters, sculptors, photographers, ceramists coming not only from Europe but from all over the world, Art3f was offering another vision of Contemporary Art allowing visitors to meet live artists and gallery owners.

Art3f is moving from a traditional salon of contemporary art dealers by giving this cultural event a human and friendly aspect as well as a special opportunity to find new talents and to discover the stars of tomorrow.

Organizing the first edition last year was not easy since we did not know the outcome that was a real success of public”, highlighted exclusively for HelloMonaco Serge Beninca (S.B.) fair’s director and founder of Art3f  – “Monaco’s expo is a very special concept since most of Art exhibitions in Europe take place during the cold season as other exhibitions we organize in Europe; planning such an event in the middle of a vacation month like August is then a great challenge and  it is also quite complex since the exhibition area is not a “park expo” but it is designed just for the Chapiteau”

HelloMonaco: Who is the typical recipient of Art3f?

S.B.: We try to attract an international tourist clientele among Monaco’s residents and citizens, as we did last year with our great joy. The format has already worked very well notwithstanding the nationality of exposers and visitors. This year the quality of the works of art on display and of all participants is at the top, even more than in the past edition, and the request to exhibit was higher than the available places. This shows the growing interest in this salon conceived to be worthy the Monegasque style”.

HelloMonaco: How do you feel in Monaco?

S.B.: “The Principality is shining and sexy as major European capitals like Paris and Brussels, capable to draw the attention of a worldwide audience, from Russia to United States. We are also very well received by Espace Fontvieille, Monaco’s community and authorities. Not by chance, many of the attendees take the opportunity to visit Monaco and its surroundings. Thus, we consider art3f Monaco a recreational art fair addressed to a very high-level audience who is still open to invest in art and you can only find here. This is a golden opportunity for all exhibitors who were able to benefit from the exclusive networking with potential clients and local gallerists”.

HelloMonaco: How is it going to evolve in the future?

S.B.: “We are not able to turn it into a bigger event because of lack of space but we are determined in increasing even more the quality of the contents to make art lovers, whether they are amateurs or art collectors, feel a warm and welcoming atmosphere where to meet each other and exchange ideas. In fact, conviviality is the core idea of Art3f. We are then convinced that this expo will be part of the Monegasque event schedule for a long time, being already a reference point for both single artists and art galleries that have suffered most from the lockdown. We are just looking forward to reintroducing children workshop areas, entertainment performances and hospitality”.

Effectively, on Friday afternoon, the 27th, you could breathe a true positive energy at the opening. HelloMonaco collected a few feedbacks from expositors. “I am really delighted to be part of Art3f being for the first time in Monaco where I wish my artworks will find the proper place”, pointed out Florence Muliardo Roy, French self-taught visual artist fond of the most popular comics she reproduces on different surfaces in a colourful artistic way for the love of children and adults.

I am so happy to expose my art in the international context of Monaco where I moved five months ago from Mougins being offered the chance to open my own gallery”, highlighted Marie-Blanche Giannorsi whose intense portraits reveal women’s nature sweet and strong at the same time. “We are honoured to be here for the second time, feeling completely at ease to meet our ‘friends’ in our homeland”, stressed Gianluca Gaudio from Bel-Air Fine Art Monte-Carlo, paramount international contemporary art group located at Fairmont Hotel.

It is so exciting to make this interesting experience shared by unique art stands and to get positive feedbacks from Monaco’s visitors about the unique art by Oleg Kedria”, stated Elena Ogloblina, art manager for the award-winning American artist of Ukrainian descent whose unique pieces, glittering crystal sculptures perfectly recreate the shape of the most charming animals skilfully decorated with meaningful symbols and chromatic shades, recalling important moments of his life.

Being here is a very good occasion to introduce my art aimed at giving new life to noble materials from a perspective of a positive metamorphosis into a wonderful harmony of colours I am constantly seeking for to push people to transform themselves as I did in my life; evolving is so important to survive in these difficult times”, concluded Lady Butterfly, naturalized French of Irish descent. We wish then to find a renovated super creative spirit in the 2022 Art3f edition!
