Monaco’s Charles III middle-school recently announced that it will adopt a mandatory dress code for all of its students, starting in February 2026. The initiative, promoted by the Prince’s Government, is a continuation of a uniform system which is already in place in the Principality’s elementary schools.
“This measure aims to strengthen cohesion among students, promote a serene school climate and enhance the image of the institution,” said Collège Charles III.
The new uniform consists of navy or burgundy polo shirts. The bottom of the outfit remains at the discretion of the families “but should be a dark colour to ensure the harmony of the whole outfit,” said Collège Charles III in a recent press release.
Other optional items are also available, including long-sleeved shirts, body warmers, sweatshirts with or without hoods, and caps.
Students can try on the new uniform at the school auditorium from Monday 3 November to Friday 14 November 2025. The deadline to order the new uniform is November 14, with the school stating that, “No item can be ordered after this date.”

“The dress code is mandatory. Students whose attire is not compliant will not be admitted to class,” said Collège Charles III in a recent press release.
A starter pack of seven items (four short-sleeved polo shirts, two hooded sweatshirts and a cap) is available for €140 (for collection within the school, home delivery is also possible with added shipping costs). Additional items range in price from €10 for a cap to €40 for a body warmer. Polo shirts are €19.
“Through this approach, Charles III middle-school reaffirms its commitment to a collective dynamic by placing well-being, a strong identity and cohesion at the heart of its establishment project,” said Collège Charles III.
