Princess Charlene of Monaco attended the Pink Ribbon Monaco event on 4 October and illuminated the Casino Square in vibrant pink to support the Principality’s breast cancer awareness campaign and launch the Pink October initiative. Earlier this year, Princess Charlene became the Honorary President of Pink Ribbon Monaco.
The Pink Ribbon event kicked off with a private cocktail at 6:30pm on the upper terrace of the Café de Paris. Princess Charlene then cued the pink lights at 7:45 pm in the centre of Place du Casino. Almost 20 emblematic locations, including the Prince’s Palace, the National Council, the Oceanographic Museum and the Casino de Monte-Carlo are currently lit up in pink.
This year marks the 14th anniversary of the organization’s ongoing efforts to promote early detection and breast cancer awareness. Pink Ribbon Monaco has played a key role in introducing and promoting this global campaign.

In addition to the lighting event, Pink Ribbon Monaco is launching several more innovative initiatives this year to engage and educate the Monegasque community. One of the new initiatives is a comprehensive digital brochure on breast self-examination, accessible via a QR code printed on locally created boxes of handmade sweets. These boxes, which can be personalized with company logos, will be distributed throughout the Principality, and to company employees. The brochure, available in French and English, aims to raise awareness of the importance of regular self examinations for early detection and provides individuals with essential resources for identifying the early signs of breast cancer.
