The flu epidemic hit the Paca region earlier than expected

On Wednesday, the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur Regional Health Agency (ARS) and the Paca and Corsica Regional Intervention Unit (CireSud) made a statement that the Flu epidemic has hit the Paca region on the week of 12 to 18 December. “The epidemic is early this season”.

THE “HOSPITAL UNDER VOLTAGE” PLAN HAS BEEN TRIGGERED

For the week of December 12-18, La CireSud carried out 945 consultations at “SOS Medecins” for a flu syndrome; 416 emergency room visits, with 69 people hospitalized.

The ARS Paca is piloting the “Hospital under voltage” action plan, it is helping to adapt the bedding capacity to the current needs and to reinforce the teams if necessary. It follows the work of emergency services and coordinates the actions of different healthcare institutions.

To date, six emergency services are declared “under voltage”, reported the ARS without stating the specific ones.
