Every May, Cannes becomes the epicenter of cinema, glamour, and high fashion. Over the years, the red carpet at the Palais des Festivals has evolved into a spectacle in its own right, where fashion moments often generate as much buzz as the films themselves. This year was no exception. From couture craftsmanship and dramatic silhouettes to extraordinary high jewellery, Cannes 2026 delivered a masterclass in red-carpet dressing.
Hollywood Glamour
Few stars dominated the Croisette quite like Demi Moore. The actress delivered two of the festival’s most memorable appearances, first in a sculpted white mermaid gown with a corseted bodice, and later at the premiere of Fatherland in a striking scarlet Gucci by Demna creation featuring a dramatic architectural collar. Both looks were elevated by dazzling Chopard jewels, reaffirming her status as one of Hollywood’s most enduring style icons.

Few women command the Cannes red carpet quite like Jane Fonda. For the opening ceremony, the screen legend arrived in a shimmering sequined Gucci gown, paired with an extraordinary Pomellato High Jewellery necklace showcasing a rare aquamarine of more than 46 carats. The result was timeless elegance with unmistakable star power.

Aishwarya Rai once again proved why she remains one of Cannes’ most anticipated guests. The actress captivated photographers in a crystal-embroidered sapphire-blue gown before switching gears for a second appearance in a crisp white tailored suit complemented by a dramatic feather boa. Eva Longoria embraced couture glamour in a sculptural white Tamara Ralph gown complete with sweeping drapery and an elegant train.

Olga Kurylenko brought a bold splash of colour to the red carpet in an intricate red lace gown, while Marion Cotillard remained loyal to Chanel, opting for a sophisticated black look that embodied effortless Parisian chic.

Cate Blanchett delivered two standout fashion moments. She first appeared in a sleek black gown with a structured square neckline before stealing the spotlight at the premiere of Garance in a spectacular Givenchy creation designed by Sarah Burton. Floral embroidery, a dramatic open back, and cascading fringe made it one of the most talked-about looks of the festival.

Penélope Cruz embraced old-Hollywood glamour for the closing ceremony in an archival Georges Chakra gown featuring a corseted silhouette, delicate feather embellishments, and a dramatic train.

Tilda Swinton once again demonstrated her distinctive approach to fashion. The actress arrived at the closing ceremony in a striking red Chanel gown from the Fall 2026 collection, its sculptural balloon-like silhouette perfectly reflecting her avant-garde aesthetic.

Diane Kruger also turned heads in a satin gown inspired by Asian design, completed with a dramatic emerald cape that added an element of theatrical elegance.

Among the men, Adam Driver stood out in a perfectly tailored navy tuxedo. John Travolta and his daughter, Ella Bleu Travolta, also generated significant attention, with fans praising the actor’s refreshed image and modern styling, including a distinctive cap that became one of the unexpected talking points of the festival.

Models: The Queens of the Croisette
The world’s most celebrated models once again turned the Croisette into fashion’s most glamorous runway.
Cara Delevingne embraced high drama in a black gown featuring a sweeping train and open back, while Natasha Poly delivered one of the festival’s most striking sheer looks in an elegant black creation.

Romee Strijd brought a sense of romance to Cannes in a delicate semi-sheer gown adorned with voluminous white ruffles. Bella Hadid continued her reign as the queen of archival fashion, stepping out in a beautifully embroidered powder-blue gown while championing vintage Louis Vuitton from the Marc Jacobs era and archival Elie Saab couture throughout the festival.

Adriana Lima proved that timeless elegance never goes out of style. The supermodel paired a classic black evening gown with a breathtaking emerald necklace featuring a remarkable 129-carat gemstone, one of the most discussed jewellery pieces seen on the red carpet this year.

Carla Bruni brought a dose of Parisian glamour in a striking zebra-print gown. Equally memorable were Izabel Goulart in a sheer backless dress with a dramatic train, Frida Aasen in an ethereal white gown, and Coco Rocha in a rich chocolate-brown look accented by a sculpted corset.

Stella Maxwell delivered one of the boldest fashion statements of the festival. With pink hair, an Asian-inspired embroidered gown, and unmistakable rock-star confidence, she effortlessly stood out among an already stylish crowd.

The Festival’s Most Talked-About Couples
Among the most charming appearances of Cannes 2026 were Barbara Palvin and Dylan Sprouse. Expecting her first child, the model embraced maternity glamour in a feather-trimmed sky-blue Miu Miu gown, creating one of the most memorable fashion moments of the festival.

Charles Leclerc and Alexandra Leclerc also drew plenty of attention. Alexandra arrived in an elegant gown featuring a layered skirt and corseted bodice, while the couple’s appearance quickly became one of the most photographed and talked-about moments on the Croisette.

From couture craftsmanship and extraordinary jewels to unforgettable silhouettes, Cannes 2026 once again proved that on the French Riviera, fashion remains every bit as captivating as the films themselves.
