Festivities for the 40th anniversary of the Princess Grace rose garden were launched by Prince Albert II and Princess Caroline on 3 May. The garden, located in Fontvieille, hosted the seventh International Roses Competition as part of the festivities, with 75 organic roses participating. For the first time, the competition’s roses were grown close to the Principality. The winner of the prestigious competition was the “Jean Carles EVEpiweet, d’Eve-Rateau” French rose. The competition’s ‘people’s choice award’ is currently accepting votes from the public on the government’s Facebook page until 16 June.

In January 2025, the public is invited to cut all the roses with the gardeners.

Created in tribute to Princess Grace, the rose garden has evolved since its inauguration in 1984. Enlarged in 2007, redesigned in the early 2010s, the garden is currently accessible and open 24 hours a day.
