AS Monaco won 0-1 away at Metz in the opening fixture of Ligue 1 matchday 3 weekend. Once again Radamel Falcao made the difference.
AS Monaco now hold the outright record for the most consecutive wins in Ligue 1! Once again, it was in Lorraine that Leonardo Jardim’s men made French football history with their fifteenth straight victory. Yet it was not their most straightforward, as a valiant Metz side held the reigning champions until late on.

Radamel Falcao made the difference yet again. Seizing on a wonderful pass from Rachid Ghezzal – who marked his debut for the Monegasques in the best possible way- the skipper beat Didillon to net the only goal of a tight encounter. And his fifth in just three games.

Earlier, Guido Carrillo had suffered more bad luck as he hit the post, while Messin denied Kamil Glik, whose header was almost inch-perfect. But it was all academic, as the visitors secured the three points. In addition to setting a new record, the result sees AS Monaco confirm their flawless start to the season, with three wins out of three. Next up, they host OM at the Stade Louis-II on 27 August.
