Herculis Monaco announces Twelve New Champion Competitors

This news comes after the announced participation of Faith Kipyegon in the 3000 metre, Jimmy Gressier in the 5000 metre, and Mondo Duplantis, pole vault world record holder.

“These new confirmations further enhance the prestige of the Herculis EBS Meeting, which year after year brings together the best athletes on the planet and offers an ideal setting for great performances,” said the Herculis EBS in a recent press release.

The Wanda Diamond League is a circuit of 15 sporting events, with meetings held in 13 countries across four continents. The 2026 Diamond League season began in Doha on 8 May and will conclude with a two-day final in Brussels on 4 and 5 September.

The Herculis EBS in Monaco is set to be one the stiffest competitions of the season, with the participation of Olympic champions, world champions, and promising emerging talents. Some of the most anticipated events at this year’s Herculis EBSwill be: the Women’s 200 metre, the Men’s 100 metre, the Women’s 100 metre Hurdles and the Women’s Pole Vault.

Sprint Champions

Reigning Olympic champion, Julien Alfred, will return to Monaco to compete in the 200 metre. The sprinter from Saint Lucia has shown excellent form at the start of this season, launching her Diamond League campaign with a time of under 22 seconds in Rome. The athlete has a special relationship with the Herculis EBS Meeting. She came in second in the 200 metrein 2023, before winning the 100 metre twice in a row, in 2024 and 2025. Her races are quickly becoming one of the most anticipated events at this year’s Herculis EBS.

The men’s 100 metre will also feature reigning world champion and world number one: Oblique Seville. The Jamaican star, who set an impressive personal best of 9.77 seconds in Tokyo, started his 2026 season with a strong 9.91 seconds.

Rising Stars

Another major athlete in the world of sprinting is American Jordan Anthony, one of the most promising young talents of his generation, who will be competing in the 100 metre at the Stade Louis-II for the first time. Recently crowned world indoor champion, he embodies the new wave of international sprinting.

Women’s 100 metre Hurdles: A Clash of Champions

The women’s 100 metre hurdles also promises to be one of the event’s highlights. Olympic champion Masai Russell is enjoying an exceptional start to the season. Her time of 12.14 seconds in Xiamen put her just two hundredths of a second behind the world record, confirming her status as a major contender in the event.

The American will face Switzerland’s Ditaji Kambundji, the reigning world champion in the event from Tokyo. Their confrontation promises to be one of the most spectacular races of the Diamond League circuit.

Women’s Pole Vault: Showdown Between Champions

The women’s pole vault competition will bring together two of the sport’s leading figures. Reigning World Champion, Katie Moon, of the United States will face her rival, Australian Nina Kennedy, Olympic champion and a major force on the international circuit. Accustomed to clearing heights above 4.80 metres, the two pole vaulters are expected to offer the Monegasque public a top-notch competition.

Meeting of Champions

The strength of the 2026 Herculis EBS is further confirmed by the presence of several world champions and medalists in various disciplines. Among them are Emmanuel Wanyonyi, Olympic champion and one of the world’s leading 800 metrerunners, while the young Botswanan, Collen Kebinatshipi, continues to impress in the 400 metres.

Switzerland’s Simon Ehammer, a combined events specialist, is also confirmed for the long jump. In middle-distance running, Italian Nadia Battocletti, a world medalist, has confirmed her participation in Monaco, while New Zealander, Geordie Beamish, reigning world champion, has confirmed his participation in the 3000 metre steeplechase.
