Roca Team started the quarterfinals by losing to the current champion Asvel 69-72. Not a very good start for play-offs.
The Monegasque team started the match by losing initiative in the first quarter and as a result finishing it with a large score difference 11-23. That defeat made its impact and all next three quarters were in favor of Roca Team (19-14, 19-18, 20-17). Unfortunately that didn’t help them to win in the match as their opponents, team of Lyon, managed to keep the score difference very short and the total score was in favor of Asvel.
The last quarter was the fiercest one of this game. Dee Bost who didn’t bring any points to its team during three first quarters, brought 12 points in the last one. If only Roca team could have kept their rhyme right from the beginning!
“Asvel team has a very aggressive tactics and that hinder us long enough from pulling our own game together. We lost too many points in the first quarter and even though every player of the team fought until the end during the whole match, we were not able to restore that score difference. We have to do better in our next game against Asvel”, – Zvezdan Mitrovic, coach of the Roca team, highlighted.
The Monegasque team will have a chance of revenge on 24th May when they meet with Asvel team again. And we wish good luck to the players of Zvezdan Mitrovic.
