Baroque Music concert: “Stella Orientalis – The Nativity in the Renaissance – Ensemble Céladon” will be held on Tuesday, December 5, 2023, at 7 p.m., in Chapelle de la Miséricorde.
The beautiful story of the birth of Christ greatly inspired Renaissance musicians. Stella Orientalis sets the tone for a European Nativity and Epiphany, in a multilingual overview of Christmas carols in the 16th century. This journey across Europe takes us to meet different composers (Praetorius, Ortiz, Del Encina) with very varied writings but all dealing with the same subject: Christmas night and the mysteries that surround it, the adoration of the wise men and shepherds.
