Recital of Jonathan Tetelman

November 7 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Monte-Carlo Opera’s Program

Recital of Jonathan Tetelman will be held on 7 November 2026 at 7 pm in the Monte-Carlo Opera.

The voice of Jonathan Tetelman has been described by the prestigious German daily “Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung” as possessing “an intense and irresistible euphony—firmly anchored in a warm lower register, full-bodied and rich, yet remaining admirably elegant and supple.”

Born in Chile in 1988, Jonathan Tetelman was adopted as an infant and raised in the United States, in New Jersey. He began his vocal training as a baritone at the Manhattan School of Music, before transitioning to the tenor range at the Mannes School of Music. This vocal and artistic evolution places him in an impressive lineage of legendary predecessors—such as Ramón Vinay, Carlo Bergonzi, James King, and Plácido Domingo—with whom he also shares a captivating temperament and a charismatic stage presence.

Everything suggests that he is destined for a long and brilliant career as a “spinto” tenor. Indeed, in the mere decade since his debut in Puccini’s “La bohème” at the Tanglewood Festival in 2018—followed by his first European appearances in the same role—Jonathan Tetelman has established himself as the go-to tenor for portraying the passionate young lovers found in the works of Puccini, Verdi, and the composers of the “verismo” tradition.
