#hello_monaco weekend: what to do on February 17th and February 18th

Are you ready for the weekend? As always we want to guide you through the most interesting events you can attend in and near Monaco.

The 90th Lemon Festival in Menton

On Saturday you simply must see the start of the Carnaval season on Côte d’Azur. You can start in Menton, the city inseparable with lemons! Not only is this fragrant fruit cultivated in the city, but the annual festival featuring giant lemon and orange sculptures seems to bring them to life.

The 90th Lemon Festival in Menton traditionally hosts fruit parades, light shows, street animations and fairs. Its 2024 theme is “From Olympia to Menton”. The Lemon Festival was recognized by the Ministry of Culture and included in the inventory of intangible cultural heritage in France in 2019. This year it is held from February 17 to March 3, 2024.

The “Fête du Citron®” (Lemon Festival), attracts more than 200,000 visitors every year. For more than 15 days, you can enjoy the zest-flavored of Golden parades and Night-time parades(parades of citrus floats and animated by groups), admire the Exhibition of citrus patterns in the gardens Biovès; not forgetting to visit the Crafts Fair and the Festival of Orchids with unforgettable scents.

The Nice Carnival

Then Nice. For over 150 years the arrival of spring in Nice is unimaginable without its traditional carnival and flower parades. Its 2024 theme is “the King of Pop Culture” with the most colourful scenery, huge inflatable sculptures, live music and tons of confetti. Are you ready to take part in its fragrant battle of flowers? …. or enjoy a scenic night corso parade? Then head to the Masséna Square in Nice and get ready for tons of fun from February 17 to March 4, 2024!
