Madrid-based artist Amova has just completed a successful pop-up solo exhibition in Monaco, curated by The Art Trotter — an educational and curatorial art platform dedicated to helping collectors and enthusiasts explore and acquire contemporary art with confidence. Known for her collaborations with Adidas, and exhibitions alongside major tournaments like the US Open and the Mutua Madrid Open, Amova now adds Monaco to her international trajectory with a powerful new body of work that reimagines the tennis ball as a symbol of transformation, endurance, and aesthetic possibility.
A Unique Tribute to Monaco and the Monte-Carlo Masters
At the heart of the Monaco exhibition was a new work inspired by the spirit and geometry of the Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters, created especially for this show. Echoing the iconic clay court of the Monte-Carlo Country Club, the piece was signed by participating players and infused with the atmosphere of this world-renowned tournament.
The Monte-Carlo Country Club generously donated used tennis balls from the tournament, which were featured in the exhibition scenography and will also be repurposed in future creations by the artist — further underscoring Amova’s commitment to sustainability and material transformation.
Art, Elegance, and Ecological Awareness
Amova’s practice is grounded in the conceptual tradition of the readymade, introduced by Marcel Duchamp in the early 20th century, yet reinterpreted with a contemporary lens of craftsmanship, sustainability, and sport. Trained as a jeweller, she brings an acute sensitivity to form, texture, and detail, turning once-discarded tennis balls into installations and sculptures of exceptional elegance and symbolism.
By preserving the ball’s original shape and surface, Amova elevates this mass-produced object into a new artistic language — one that merges emotional resonance, aesthetic refinement, and ecological responsibility. Her work invites viewers to rethink value, beauty, and waste, positioning art as a tool for both cultural commentary and environmental awareness.
A Personal Dialogue Between Art and Sport
What sets Amova’s work apart is the emotional and human layer she builds into each piece. She often invites tennis champions to donate and autograph the balls used in her sculptures, transforming athletic moments into lasting artistic memory. Among the contributors are Novak Djokovic, Marat Safin, and Andrey Rublev — bridging the worlds of elite sport and contemporary art through personal artefacts.
Her recent collaborations with Adidas and her presence at global tennis events such as the US Open have brought widespread attention to her distinctive practice — one that continues to evolve, respond to place, and engage with both the sporting and artistic communities.
