“Once Upon a Kids Nite Time 2024,” under the Patronage of H.R.H. The Princess of Hanover, marks the 9th Edition of this magical evening – a gala created especially for children. It’s a night filled with smiles and joy, all the while benefiting the kids, kindly organised by the Association for this great cause.
Before the show, HelloMonaco had the opportunity to speak with Francien Giraudi, the founding president of Les Enfants de Frankie, the Monegasque association that supports sick children in Monaco and the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region. Founded in November 1997, this association brings comfort and joy to sick, disabled, or disadvantaged children in Monaco and the surrounding area. Francien is a dedicated member of the Monegasque community and was honoured as Woman of the Year in 2014.
HelloMonaco: Can you tell us about this show and why you chose Sporting Monte-Carlo as the venue this year? What is the mission behind it?Francien Giraudi: Good evening! Last year, we held Kids Nite at the opera to celebrate our 25th anniversary with His Serene Highness Prince Albert II in attendance. We planned that for three years. Now, we are back at Sporting Monte-Carlo for the 9th edition of Kids Nite. It’s a special evening where children can dress up and enjoy a big show. I wanted to involve the children of Monaco to help sick children. Tomorrow, we will set up 1,000 chairs for another show, and many sick and needy children will join us.
HelloMonaco: Is there anything special about this show?
Francien Giraudi: Yes! I’m really excited because I created it myself. While I didn’t write the script, I chose the music, which I love. The story is about a magical tree in a forest that wants to stay hidden, but eventually, someone discovers it. The children on stage will be part of this forest setting, reminding us how important it is to protect our forests.
The show was fantastic! It’s always a joy to see beloved fairy tale characters come to life, especially during the holiday season. This is exactly what the Monaco kids’ community needs.
In conclusion, Monaco Kids Nite brought joy to children and their parents as they enjoyed a fun show and a delicious dinner for a great cause. The menu featured kids’ favourite dishes, including mini hamburgers, pizza, and, of course, traditional Barbagiuans. It was a wonderful evening filled with laughter and happiness for everyone!
