Monaco promotes extension of maternity leave

The Princely Government points out that very recently it presented to the National Council a project of the law which aims at prolonging the length of maternity leave from 16 to 18 weeks in Monaco.

This step follows an initial intention of the Economic and Social Council that the Department of Social affairs and Health wanted to accomplish fast.

As soon as this text has been voted, these provisions, which concern currently only private sector employees, will be extended to civil servants and public officials.
