Monte Carlo Bay wins International Prize for Best Pool
The Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort received the Villegiature award for the “Best Hotel Pool in Europe”. The international jury of Villegiature Awards is made up of 22 influential journalists and press correspondents from 15 nationalities.
One of the reasons Monaco is known around the world is for the quality of its hotels. The palaces of the Principality attract a select clientele throughout the year. If visitors come from all over the world, it’s because the institutions of the Principality are competing with each other to offer them what they need. These efforts that have been rewarded to the Monte Carlo Bay with a Villegiature Award.
“Consisting of a large indoor / outdoor pool equivalent to an Olympic-sized pool, open to a 100-metre-long sand-bottomed lagoon, the Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort‘s swimming pool deserved this award,” said the Society.
Monte-Carlo Bay hotel applied to receive the prize, according to Frédéric Darnet, director of the establishment: “We set out to conquer this prize. For us, nothing is ever just acquired, we are constantly questioning ourselves.”
The Villegiature Awards are awarded by a jury of 20 journalists who “contribute to powerful media and are recognized worldwide,” according to the organizers of the award. Last year, the Regent Porto Montenegro hotel in Montenegro won this prestigious award.
“The hoteliers describe and show their establishment to the journalists of the jury to not only convince them to vote for them, but also so they may report about the establishment in their media or news outlet,” according to the Villegiature Awards website. It’s a concept that works, since, according to Frédéric Darnet, there are already reports about the hotel in the international press.
In a recent statement, the Société des Bains de Mer paid tribute to its teams: “Beyond the beauty and design offered of a hotel, beyond its architecture, its atmosphere or its unique services, these are exceptional women and men who are honoured by Les Villégiature Awards”.
In 2017, the group was awarded the prize for the best hotel group in Europe.
