Prince Albert II and Princess Caroline attend 57th International Bouquet Competition

The Sovereign and the Princess of Hanover toured that stands of the 57th International Bouquet Competition, organized by the Garden Club of Monaco at the Yacht Club on 9 and 10 May.

The Sovereign and the Princess of Hanover toured that stands of the 57th International Bouquet Competition, organized by the Garden Club of Monaco at the Yacht Club on 9 and 10 May. Held under the theme “Celestial,” this year’s competition welcomed amateur and professional designers from all over the world, with two additional category for young talent ages 6 to 14.

The competition was created in 1968 by Princess Grace to promote floral art and the beauty of flowers in the Principality. It is now held under the High Patronage of Prince Albert II and the Presidency of Princess Caroline of Hanover.

Grand Prize Winner

The Princess Grace of Monaco Prize, the Grand Prize of the competition, was presented by Princess Caroline during the awards ceremony to Fabienne Obry from Emotions Florales in Bordeaux. Other winners came from across France, Italy, and Monaco.

Monaco’s Results

The Humour Prize, presented by Stephane Valeri, Chairman of the Société des Bains de Mer, was

Awarded to Sacha Blasco, from Monaco. The Award for Charm, presented by Karyn Ardisson Salopek, Deputy Mayor for Culture of Monaco, was won by Gloria Lehner, also from Monaco.

The Gold Medal for the large size arrangement category (“The Storm”) went to a bouquet by Frédérique de Chambure from the Garden Club of Monaco and Maryse Gras from MG Fleurs & Création in France. The silver medal for table decoration (“Dinner Under the Stars”) went to Liliane Roach, also from the Garden Club de Monaco.

The Gold Medal for the free composition category (“Red Moon Over the Sea”) went to Geneviève Antona from the Garden Club of Monaco. Monaco also swept up every medal (gold, silver, and bronze) in both youth categories.

Window Display Results

Winners of the 2nd edition of the “Monaco in Bloom: Window Display Competition” were also awarded during the Bouquet Competition’s ceremony, by Cecilia Casiraghi, Vice President of the Garden Club of Monaco.

First prize went to the House of Denim boutique, represented by Nadine Lauro. Second prize went to the Monaco Elegance boutique, represented by Marie-Claire Ghisi. Third prize was awarded to Eleven Monte-Carlo, represented by Benedeta Bizzini.
