Prince Albert offers Condolences for Victims of Genoa Bridge Collapse

The collapse of the Morandi Viaduct in Genoa, Italy on the 14th of August, a little more than 50 years after it was opened, has left Italy and the world in shock. There are 38 confirmed deaths at the moment, but that number may likely rise.

In an official letter, the sovereign promptly expressed his support for the President of Italy.

Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene of Monaco also expressed their support for the Italian people.

Mister President,

The Princess and I have learned with deep emotion the tragic collapse of the city of Genoa’s viaduct.

The people of Monaco join us to assure you of our solidarity and our prayers to the victims of this disaster.

Our thoughts are also with the injured people, for whom we wish all the best.
