Monaco becomes first to use Electric Garbage Trucks

On Tuesday 2 February, HSH Prince Albert II was able to discover the four new 100% electric garbage trucks on the Place du Palais. They will be used for the first time in a few days by the Société Monégasque d’Assainissement (SMA). The trucks, which have a capacity of 26 tonnes, will be used for the collection of household waste in the Principality, replacing the current vehicles. The new trucks will allow a reduction in noise and a reduction in greenhouse gas emissions. Once the trucks hit the road in a few days, Monaco will be the first location where waste is collected by a fully electric fleet.
