Seafront Extension Update: Minister of State meets Larvotto Merchants

On Friday morning, the Minister of State went to Larvotto to meet merchants and exchange with them about various topics, including the seafront extension project, the monitoring of bathing water and the future renovation of the site.

Serge Telle, accompanied by Jean Castellini, Government Counsellor Minister of Finance and Economy and Rémy Rolland, Administrator of Domains, was able to listen and talk with everyone. He specified that the ship in charge of creating the base embankment on which the caissons will be placed for the seafront extension project, the ‘Simon Stevin’, had only one more journey to do and that the bathing water remained consistent throughout the period of phase 1. The Directorate of the Environment has indeed made additional levies during the winter season in the bathing area, at the rate of one analysis every 15 days. It turned out that the work had not affected the quality of the water. All results have been posted and broadcast regularly to the public on bathing sites.

Finally, the Minister of State has confirmed that traders will be able to continue their activity for the 2019 season following which the renovation of the site will begin. He added that the finalized renovation project will be presented in the fall.
