Trendy multifunctional interiors at Nice Fair

Proposing solutions to increase living spaces in homes, improve their flexibility and, at times, conceal them, is the mission for special agents working at the stands at the Nice Fair.

It’s not really innovation, it’s optimization. This phenomenon has always existed but it is now even more perceptible through multifunctional devices; technical means giving several uses to the same space.

The Nice Fair highlights this demand for more flexibility in interiors and houses. The open kitchen which also becomes a dining room is well-known, but it keeps evolving as technology does. Same for the retractable bed that winds and unrolls around a desk or screen. You can even dine on a table that turns into a snooker table in the blink of an eye.

This game also captured the imagination of design integrators who have created a steam power station, integrating everything that vacuums, blows, cleans. If one amuses oneself with counting, one can obtain, out of the 23, even 4 uses from 1 single object. This process of condensing functions goes in the direction of the trend to reduce the number of objects one owns, which is about 2000… on average.
