Prince Albert II makes Historic Visit to Aiglun Fortress
The Sovereign travelled to Aiglun, Puget-Théniers, Beuil and Villars-sur-Var, to explore heritage sites linked to the Grimaldi family on 21 and 22 September.
Prince Albert II first visited Château d’Aiglun, a troglodyte fortress whose restoration he supported. The Prince then attended an official ceremony and met residents and local representatives. In Puget-Théniers, the Prince visited a sports complex that now bears his name. In Beuil, Prince Albert II unveiled the municipality’s new “Historic Grimaldi Site of Monaco” sign. The two-day visit concluded in Villars-sur-Var, where the Sovereign met residents outside the town hall.
All four municipalities are members of the Historic Grimaldi Sites of Monaco association and share links with the Grimaldis of Beuil, who played an important role in the history of the County of Nice, including its dedication to the House of Savoy in 1388.
Princely Couple, Richard Gere, Christina Aguilera attend Prince Albert II Foundation 20th Anniversary Gala
In the presence of the Princely Couple, the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation celebrated its 20th anniversary with a star-studded gala at the Salle Garnier of the Opera Monte-Carlo on Friday 18 September 2026.
Monica Bellucci and Richard Gere, guests of honour at the event, walked the green carpet alongside Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene. Isabelle Huppert, Eva Herzigova, Catrinel Marlon, and Aurélien Muller also walked the gala’s green carpet. The evening celebrated two decades of environmental action around the world.
After the evening’s cocktail reception, a dinner created by Michelin-starred Chef Yannick Alléno was served to the guests. Next, international stars Christina Aguilera, Plácido Domingo and Sister Sledge took to the stage.
Prince Albert II unveils Sculpture of André Malraux at Roquebrune’s Art Festival
The Sovereign inaugurated the 15th edition of Les Journées de l’Art-Bre, an open-air contemporary art celebration in Roquebrune-Cap-Martin, on 17 September. Prince Albert II was welcomed to the French commune by its mayor, Patrick Césari.
The Sovereign unveiled a bust of André Malraux, as this year’s event honours the 50th anniversary of the French writer’s death. Prince Albert II also viewed a portrait of Prince Rainier III and Princess Grace by artist Marcos Marin. Held each September in the olive grove of the Parc du Cap Martin, Les Journées de l’Art-Bre showcases sculptures and other works amongst the trees. Its permanent exhibition features a trail of busts honouring various figures who once lived in or passed through Roquebrune-Cap-Martin, from Coco Chanel and Winston Churchill to Joséphine Baker and Jacques Brel.
Pierre Casiraghi Competes in Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez Regatta
Pierre Casiraghi is currently leading a crew aboard the Yacht Club de Monaco’s flagship Tuiga, during Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez. The star-studded crew includes competitors from the America’s Cup, The Ocean Race, IMOCA sailing, foiling and free-diving.
The 1909 Tuiga has joined around 253 yachts for the 28th edition of Les Voiles, which kicked off on 26 September and will close on 4 October. Tuiga arrived in Saint-Tropez following an East Coast tour of the United States linked to celebrations marking the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
Pierre Casiraghi, Vice-President of the Yacht Club de Monaco, is the skipper and tactician of the crew, with helming duties being shared with two-time America’s Cup winner Jimmy Spithill and Team Malizia skipper Boris Herrmann. The crew also includes Dutch offshore sailor Rosalin Kuiper, British sailor Tom Dawson, Italian Moth and foiling specialist Lorenzo De Felice, French free-diver, Arnaud Jerald, and nineteen-year-old Yacht Club de Monaco sailor and ILCA 6 competitor, Louise Debeaumont.
Princely Family attends Traditional “U Cavagnëtu” Picnic
Prince Albert II, Princess Charlene, Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella participated in the traditional “U Cavagnëtu” picnic at Princess Antoinette Park on 19 September. More than 800 Monegasques gathered around the Princely Family and Leticia de Massy.
Upon arrival, the Princely Family was welcomed by Mayor Georges Marsan, surrounded by members of the Municipal Council. True to tradition, the evening began with the presentation of bouquets and dances by the group La Palladienne before a mass celebrated outdoors by Monsignor Dominique-Marie David, accompanied by the U Cantin d’A Roca choir. Socca, barbecues, Monegasque fougasse bread, ice cream, and other treats were enjoyed by the attending families.
Princess Caroline attends French Paratroopers Saint Michael’s Day Ceremony
The Princess of Hanover took part in the Saint Michael’s Day celebrations, the traditional festival of French paratroopers, alongside the 17th Parachute Engineer Regiment and the Carabiniers du Prince at Place Nationale in Montauban on 22 September. Princess Caroline has been the patron of the 17th Parachute Engineer Regiment for the past fourteen years. The event was presided over by General Jean-Christophe Béchon. Saint Michael is the patron saint and protector of airborne troops.
Beatrice Borromeo attends Dior Boutique Opening in Milan
Beatrice Borromeo Casiraghi attended the opening of a new Dior flagship boutique on 21 September. The new House of Dior Milan is located on Via Monte Napoleone, within a historic building. Conceived by architect Peter Marino, the boutique spans three floors and includes a Monsieur Dior restaurant by Enrico Bartolini.
