Is Arthur Leclerc Also Joining the Ranks of Scuderia Ferrari in 2024?

Looking ahead into this season which is about to start in earnest there are additions to the ranks of Scuderia Ferrari. 

And guess who will be one of the key Development Drivers working in support of race drivers Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz over the course of the season. And who knows … maybe also supporting Charles and Lewis Hamilton in the 2025 season. 

Yes… it will be brother Arthur Leclerc who is joining Antonio Fuoco and Davide Rigon in the role of Development Driver. The job entails mainly working in the simulator, on car development, set-up work and updates introduced during the season. 

GT Championship Racing 

But Arthur will be more than busy because the Monegasque is also racing this year in the Italian GT championship in a Scuderia Baldini 27. The Italian GT Championship (Campionato Italiano Gran Turismo) is an Italian sports car series founded in 2003 and organized by the Automobile Club d’Italia (ACI) and the Commissione Sportiva Automobilistica Italiana (CSAI). The GT3 class features a variety of machines from the FIA GT3 European Championship, from Aston Martin, Chrysler and Lamborghini, while the GT Cup class is once again made up of Ferrari Challenge and Porsche Supercup cars.

Arthur has already started  racking up miles for the Scuderia, as the team tackled a three day Pirelli test session at the Barcelona-Catalunya circuit. In fact he shared a session alongside his brother, Charles Leclerc, who recently confirmed extension of his contract with the Prancing Horse stable. 

And he is reported to have fulfilled one of his greatest dreams, behind the wheel of the SF-23, during a test at the Barcelona-Catalunya circuit.

This new rich season for Arthur is coming  after his P15 finish in the Formula 2 standings in 2023, with one podium finish to his name while racing for DAMS. 

Arthur Leclerc will no longer be formally a part of the Ferrari Driver Academy in 2024 but is transferring to be kept within the Scuderia racing family in this other exciting capacity as Development Driver.
