Monaco Magic: Tolito and Gonza Conquer the Masters with Padel Precision under the eyes of Prince Albert

In a stunning upset at the Monaco Master, Tolito Aguirre and Gonza Alfonso unseated the A1 Padel’s top-ranked pair, world #1´s Maxi Arce and Franco Dal Bianco, in the finals. They clinched their second title of the season, dominating with a score of 6/4 6/3.

Tolito and Gonza are unstoppable here at the start of the season. With 10 matches played, they boast a perfect record of 10 wins, establishing themselves as the new powerhouse duo vying for the top spot in the A1 rankings. Throughout Monaco’s Fabrice Pastor circuit, they haven’t dropped a single set, paving the way for their second triumph of the season. Congratulations that they did it in Monaco!

How Los Magicos Overwhelmed the World #1s

The first set of the match saw numerous breaks, with a total of 7 in the 11 games played. However, it was the Aguirre/Alfonso duo who managed to secure the decisive break, claiming the first set.

In the second set, Tolito and Gonza made an early break in the first game, setting the tone for the rest of the match. The dynamic pair, affectionately known as “Los Magicos,” showcased their prowess and skill, sealing their victory.

Their next showdown awaits in Santiago, the capital of Chile, from April 15th to 21st! Until then, it’s safe to assume that Tolito and Gonzalo will be celebrating their latest triumph in style!

A Little History

Considered as one of the fundamental pillars to raise awareness of the sport, the Monte Carlo International Sports company presided over by the Monegasque businessman Fabrice Pastor, launched this professional circuit at the beginning of 2020, with the aim of improving the level of competition with greater prizes and better infrastructures.

In 2021 branded as the APT Padel Tour more than 40 tournaments were held in eleven countries, with the participation of 772 professional players (615 men and 157 women).

For the year 2022 the circuit expands its borders, arrives for the first time to the African continent and also increases the number of tournaments, including the Junior modality for players under 18 years old, a category that joins the existing Future, Open, Master and Grand Master.

The name of the circuit was changed for 2023… and A1 Padel was born.
