Having secured qualification thanks to their convincing 4-1 win in the second leg of the play-off against Górnik Zabrze at the Stade Louis-II, the Rouge et Blanc now know their future opponents in the Conference League, following the UEFA draw held in Monaco.
They now have their European calendar for the season! After confirming their place in the Conference League regular phase on Thursday evening with a solid victory in the return leg against Górnik Zabrze in the Principality (4-1, 7-3 on aggregate), AS Monaco’s players discovered which clubs they will face. The draw was conducted this Friday in Monaco.
Unprecedented Encounters for our Monégasques
This first participation of the Club from the Rock in the Conference League will be all about discovery! Filipe Luís’ men have been drawn against SC Freiburg (Germany), Brighton & Hove Albion (England), Lincoln Red Imps (Gibraltar), Hearts of Midlothian (Scotland), Nordsjaelland (Denmark), and CSKA Sofia (Bulgaria). As in the Champions League and Europa League, the Conference League now features a single table of 36 teams, divided into six pots according to UEFA rankings.
Journeys Into New Territory (Almost)
The Rouge et Blanc will face one representative from each pot, with three matches at home and three away. They will host Freiburg, Lincoln Red Imps, and Nordsjaelland at the Stade Louis-II (matches included in the season ticket), while travelling to Brighton, Edinburgh, and Sofia. Of these six opponents, five will be completely new fixtures, as AS Monaco have never faced them in European competition before. The exception is CSKA Sofia, who the Club have already met five times in the UEFA Cup and the European Cup.
A promising European campaign lies ahead, full of fresh challenges and the opportunity to make history in this first participation.
