This weekend is rich in very diverse events for kids and adults: Monte-Carlo Jumping, Aqua Film Festival, Festival of the Sea and much more. Here we put together the most interesting events.
For kids this weekend there is Festival of the Sea organised by the Yacht Club of Monaco on Saturday 30 June, Yacht Club de Monaco.
Port Hercule will again celebrate Fête de la Mer in collaboration with the Monaco Mairie (city council), Société Nautique de Monaco (rowing club); Pontons de Monaco Association; and other Monegasque institutions linked to the sea including the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation; Oceanographic Museum; the scuba-diving Club d’Exploration Sous-Marine de Monaco; and the Association Monégasque de la Protection de la Nature. All were keen to join forces with the Yacht Club de Monaco to offer a packed programme discovering a host of activities linked to the sea.
Another event in Monaco Bay is the 26th Inter-Bank Challenge, organised by the Yacht Club of Monaco from Saturday 30 June to Sunday 1 July.
The Challenge Inter-Banques – Trophée ERI remains a very popular event. Organised under the patronage of AMAF (Association Monégasques des Activités Financières) with ERI, world leader for financial software packages, the weekend is reserved exclusively for the banking and finance sector.
A fun and very sociable weekend, it comprises a regatta in Monaco Bay on J/70s then a coastal race between the Principality and Cap d’Ail with lunch by the sea at La Mala Beach. A dozen teams are already registered for the event which concludes with a gala dinner at the YCM.
Nestled at the foot of the Prince’s palatial ramparts, the 13th edition of the Jumping International of Monte-Carlo promises exceptional moments of sporting emotion. The Jumping International of Monte-Carlo, one of the main trials in the Longines Global Champions Tour since its creation in 2006, is a horse jumping event unlike any other — taking place on the waterfront beneath the celebrated Rocher des Princes de Monaco. The setting up of an entire equestrian event in the middle of a busy harbour is a formidable challenge. The waterfront is transformed into a luxurious equine venue, requiring the hauling in of vast quantities of specialised sand for the competition surface and the transformation of the dock into elegant stabling.
Charlotte Casiraghi as its patron, the competition brings together professional and amateur riders from around the world in a highly competitive yet convivial event that has the entire audience on its feet.
Each Grand Prix is endowed with a purse of € 300,000, of which the winner receives € 100,000. The tour’s eighteen best riders will share a purse of one million euros.
Water is a vital and essential element, which will be at the heart of the Aqua Film Festival, taking place in the Principality from June 29 to July 1, 2018.
The central focus of the event is represented by the International Cinematographic Festival hosting short films from all over the world divided into 2 categories according to length.
In the short film category, the works will be of a maximum of 25 minutes, while a special section will be reserved for the so-called “mini-shorts” format of under 3 minutes.
The nightlife in the Principality has its own special charm, that blooms thanks to the incomparable discos of the world level, including parties at Jimmy’z that particularly stand out. In connection with the renovation works, the epicenter of Monaco’s club life was closed for 6 months. After a long pause, the opening ceremony of the nightclub Jimmy’z finally took place.
