The complete Programme of The 59th Monte-Carlo Television Festival is revealed

The Festival which takes place 14th – 18th June commences with a prestigious Opening Ceremony held in the presence of H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco, the Festival’s Honorary President.

Following the Ceremony, a premiere screening of a TV series episode or TV film takes place, with cast and members of production presented on stage by the evening’s host. Previous shows presented during the Opening Ceremony. This year Bad Boys’ spin-off will open the Festival on Friday, 14 June, in the presence of actresses and executive producers Jessica Alba and Gabrielle Union.

During this prestigious evening, enjoy the After Party in the Monte-Carlo’s temple of clubbing, the Jimmy’z, with cocktail dinner and DJ, alongside the actors of your favorite TV shows. Some key moments of the program include: exclusive Cocktail before the Opening Ceremony in the presence of Festival guests, privileged seating at the Ceremony, and After Party in the Monte-Carlo’s Jimmy’z, with cocktail dinner and the DJ AL, amid the famed international television stars.

The esplanade of the Grimaldi Forum is transformed into a friendly and lovely atmosphere. A relaxation and shaded space to settle between a couple selfies and autographs! Entertainment activities will take place in the Fan Zone through out the week.

On the occasion of the 20th Anniversary of Sponge Bob Squarepants, a special event “Kids & Family Day” is on the program of the 59th edition of the Festival on June 16th. In the presence of your favorite characters and the American voices of Sponge Bob and Patrick Starfish, the public will enjoy the screening of two episodes of Sponge Bob Squarepants: the first episode as well as the last created.

Legendary actor and producer Michael Douglas is to be honoured with the prestigious Crystal Nymph. Awarded to a major international television actor to recognise a stellar body of work, the Crystal Nymph will be presented by H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco at the Festival’s Closing Ceremony on 18 June.

Every year, an international jury composed of actors and audiovisual professionals screens all programmes competing for the prestigious Golden Nymph. The 2019 Laureates will be officially announced during the Closing Ceremony on June 18.

Originally created by Prince Rainier III of Monaco, and now under the Honorary Presidency of H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco, the Monte-Carlo Television Festival has, for more than half a century, presented the very best of television from around the world.

The Festival has also been at the forefront in showcasing the highly talented professionals associated with many of the most successful programs in the history of the medium.
