Like last year, 2022 will feature three grand prix events in succession. The 5th Monaco e-Prix, 13th Historic Monaco Grand Prix and 79th Monaco Grand Prix will take place on Saturday 30 April 2022, Friday 13 to Sunday 15 May 2022, and Thursday 26 to Sunday 29 May 2022, respectively.
The creation of the urban track requires some modifications to enable the three races to be hosted in the heart of the Principality. Consequently, the preparatory work required to install the infrastructure needed for safety, TV recording, advertising and public access and reception began at the end of February with the annual road resurfacing campaign (read the press release about this work).
The actual installation of infrastructure and associated restrictions will get underway:
– On 7 March 2022 in the port area
– On 20 March 2022 in the Monte-Carlo district
This work will require ad-hoc traffic diversions and parking restrictions. Safe pedestrian walkways will be created by the Automobile Club of Monaco (ACM), with manual traffic control in some areas considered to be hazardous for those on foot.
In addition, to enable the installation work to go ahead, the MonaBike station on Place Sainte-Dévote will be moved to Promenade Honoré II starting on 21 March 2022, and the station in the Pêcheurs car park will be closed from 21 May 2022. The Place d’Armes station is expected to be moved to a location near the Canton roundabout around the same time in May.
Finally, users of public car parks and Monegasque Bus Company (CAM) or Azur bus services will be kept informed of the measures implemented during each phase of the installation process.
