Prince Albert II expresses Solidarity with France

In response to the attacks in Trèbes, which killed four people on Friday, the Sovereign Prince sent a letter to President Macron, conveying his very strong emotional response and expressing solidarity from his family and the people of Monaco.

“With my family and the people of Monaco, I want to express to you here our very strong emotion and our solidarity with the relatives of the victims as well as with the law enforcement officers who were bereaved by the attack in Trèbes.”

Monaco and France share strong links, both in their history and in the different agreements that unite them. The Sovereign also expressed a particularly strong response concerning the gendarme who lost his life: “We all bow with respect to the heroic gift of his life by Lieutenant-Colonel Arnaud Beltrame. May the greatness of this sacrifice challenge everyone in the merciless fight called blind terrorism. Only through the strength of gathering together can we keep it in check.”
