Princess Caroline inaugurates Caroline Media Library with Prince Albert II

The Sovereign and the Princess of Hanover inaugurated the new Caroline Media Library, located on the Honoré II promenade, on 10 December. Charlotte Casiraghi, Mélanie Antoinette de Massy, Mayor Georges Marsan and numerous other personalities were present. Named after Princess Caroline for her unwavering commitment to arts and culture, the new 2500 m² facility has been designed with people of all ages in mind. The public can now can read, learn, listen and watch media in the press lounge, eat in the atrium, and attend screenings, lectures, and concerts in the auditorium. Membership is free.

Camille Gottlieb makes Surprise Visit to Intergenerational Lunch

Camille Gottlieb, who is the head of the Monaco Red Cross’s youth section, visited the Huit & Demi restaurant for a celebratory lunch on 9 December. Twenty-two seniors from the Bellando de Castro residence and ten volunteers from the Monaco Red Cross gathered to share an intergenerational meal. One of the attendees was celebrating her 88th birthday that day. Each attendee received a small gift box from the Monaco Red Cross.

Prince Albert II awards Albert I Grand Medals in Paris

The Sovereign presented the Grand Medals of Prince Albert I to seven individuals on 8 December at the Maison de l’Océan in Paris. Four people were awarded for their work and commitment to the ocean and three young researchers were recognized for their theses, which will be supported by the Oceanographic Institute. 

The gilded bronze medal, bearing the profile of Prince Albert I, is the institution’s most prestigious prize. Established in 1948, it recognizes international figures and their work for the ocean. Biogeochemist Hervé Claustre, CNRS research director at the Villefranche-sur-Mer oceanographic laboratory; South African researcher Lynne Shannon; Nina Jensen, former Executive Director of WWF Norway and current Executive Director of REV Ocean; and Businessman, academic, and explorer Frederik Paulsen were some of the esteemed prize’s recipients.

Prince Albert II sends his Condolences to Morocco after Tragedy in Fez

The Sovereign sent a message of solidarity to King Mohammed VI after at least 22 people were killed and a further 16 injured when two buildings collapsed in the Fez on 10 December.

“It is with deep emotion that I learned of the tragic collapse of two buildings in Fez,” wrote the Prince in an official dispatch on 11 December. The Sovereign offered“unwavering support in these times of great hardship….My family and the Monegasque people join me in expressing our solidarity and compassion to the Moroccan people during these very painful hours.”

Princess Caroline announces Historic Appointment of First Woman Conductor to the Monte-Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra

The Princess of Hanover, who is Chair of the Board of Directors of the Monte-Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra, unveiled the name of the establishment’s new conductor during an event at the Rainier III Auditorium on 10 December. Nathalie Stutzmann will succeed Kazuki Yamada for a four-year term, becoming the first woman to lead the orchestra in its 169-year history. Nathalie Stutzmann, 60 years old, will become the 19th Artistic and Musical Director of the OPMC on 1 September 2026.

Before announcing the historic news, Princess Caroline paid tribute to the work of Maestro Kazuki Yamada for the remarkable work he had accomplished over ten seasons. Kazuki Yamada congratulated his successor via a video message, where he revealed that Stutzman learned alongside Seiji Ozawa, who was also his mentor.

Happy 11th Birthday, Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella!

The Princely Twins of Monaco celebrated their 11th birthday on 10 December. For the occasion, the Princely Palace shared three official portraits of Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella. The photographs were taken by Vanessa von Zitzewitz, the Princely Family’s official photographer. Captioned, “A very happy birthday to Hereditary Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella, who celebrate their 11th birthday today,” the post has amassed almost 45,000 likes on instagram.

Born in 2014, the Princely Twins have held the titles of Marquis and Marquise of Les Baux-de-Provence since birth. Last October, a commemorative coin was issued in honour of Prince Jacques’s Marquisate of Les Baux.Present. The Princely Family also shared their 2025 holiday card on 7 December, a beautiful and festive family portrait featuring Harley, Princess Charlene’s  dog, with the caption “The Princely Family is pleased to share their greeting card with you.”

Prince Albert II receives Xana Foundation and appoints Grace Geyoro as Champion for Peace at the Palace

Prince Albert II received representatives from the Xana Foundation by Luis Enrique (Elena and Bela Cullell) winner of the 2025 Socrates Prize for the Ballon d’Or, at the Palace on 5 December. Peace and Sport also designated Grace Geyoro as Champion for Peace.

The Xana Foundation was created by Luis Enrique, coach of Paris Saint-Germain, and his wife Elena Cullell, following the tragic death of their daughter Xana. The organization supports hospitalized children with serious illnesses by focussing on the well-being, emotional support, and dignity of young patients.

Peace and Sport awarded the title of 2025 Champion of Peace to Grace Geyoro, midfielder for the French national team, in the presence of Prince Albert II. The distinction recognizes her commitment to youth and social inclusion through sport.

Princely Couple meets with Children and the Elderly during “Christmas Tour”

Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene dedicated their morning to a “Christmas Tour” across Monaco, organized by the Monaco Red Cross, on 12 December. The tour began with young children at the Rosine Sanmori nursery school, where the couple attended a show prepared by the children, before presenting them with gifts.

Next stop was the Princess Charlene Home, which welcomes children in need, where the Princely couple also distributed gifts.

Finally, at the Yacht Club, the Monegasque Red Cross assembled a group of senior citizens for refreshments. The Princely couple visited every table and presented everyone with traditional holiday gift baskets.
