Four wins from four league matches, a strengthened position at the top of the table and a perfect weekend for the entire club: Monaco United continue their remarkable start to the season. Having beaten AC Avignonnais by an emphatic 18-0 scoreline this Sunday at the Stade Didier-Deschamps, the first team competing in the Regional League can now turn their attention to a highly anticipated fixture: another derby against ASMFF, this time in the Coupe de France.

Following three victories in their opening three fixtures, the Monegasque side entered the match at the top of the table, holding sole possession of first place and determined to maintain their impressive momentum. From the opening minutes, Monaco United imposed their rhythm, dominating possession and creating a succession of dangerous opportunities. Their collective control, technical precision and intensity quickly made the difference. After Jade Prault opened the scoring, the goals continued to flow, with captain Rachel Robert among the key figures in an attack-minded team delivering a particularly impressive performance.
At half-time, Monaco United were already leading 9-0, reflecting their overwhelming dominance throughout the first half.

A Focused Team Until the Final Whistle
Despite establishing a substantial lead early in the match, Monaco United never eased off. The second half allowed the team to maintain their dominance, further improve their attacking tally and continue developing their understanding on the pitch in particularly favourable conditions. The fixture also provided an opportunity to integrate new players into the squad and strengthen collective cohesion. “Even with such a comfortable lead, we remained focused right until the end, communicating well and showing a fantastic team spirit on the pitch. I was delighted to make my first Regional League appearance of the season, and I am happy to be joining a group that displays such positivity and enthusiasm,” said Floriane Merlin, who started the match. The centre-back added: “When there are new players joining the team, myself included, the key is to keep improving collectively so that we can remain at the top of the table until the end of the season.”
In a league where every point matters, particularly with promotion to Division 3 in mind, goal difference could prove decisive by the end of the season. The Monegasque players therefore maintained their intensity until the final minute, adding several more goals to their tally.

The final score was emphatic: an 18-0 victory for Monaco United, securing their fourth consecutive league win. Still unbeaten, the team remain alone at the top of the table and approach the next stage of the season with confidence. “I am pleased with this result, which gives us three valuable points while further improving our goal difference. I would also like to highlight the squad’s professionalism and discipline. In this type of match, the greatest challenge is maintaining the same high standards once a substantial lead has been established. After fifteen minutes, when you are already 4-0 ahead, it is easy to lose focus and move away from our playing principles. I am therefore proud of the players, who remained fully focused and committed from the first minute to the last,” said Alexandre Gallet, Monaco United’s assistant coach.
A Perfect Weekend for Every Team at the Club
This fourth matchday was also a memorable one for Monaco United as a whole. Every team in action this weekend secured a victory, highlighting the positive momentum running throughout the club and across its different age groups. Alongside our U11s, who performed very well at the festival held in Villeneuve-Loubet, and the impressive 7-0 victory for the U15s, the senior reserve team also secured a convincing league win, remaining top of their own table.
In a closely contested and fiercely fought encounter, the U18s showed determination and resilience to secure a 2-1 victory. These three important points strengthen their position in the race for the top places, following a match that remained competitive until the final whistle. “It was a difficult match that remained undecided until the very end, and we had to fight hard to secure these three valuable points. Thanks to an individual moment of brilliance in the second half, we managed to regain the lead and hold on to it until the final whistle. However, we will need to be more clinical in front of goal to put games beyond our opponents earlier, particularly when we are creating chances,” explained Élodie Caillet, Monaco United’s U18 coach.
And, of course, our Regional League senior first team also delivered an emphatic home victory against AC Avignonnais ahead of the Coupe de France…

All Eyes on the Monaco Derby in the Coupe de France
Following this latest commanding league performance, attention now turns to a major upcoming fixture. Having qualified for the next round with an impressive victory away to AS Cagnes-le-Cros a week ago, Monaco United now know their next opponents in the Coupe de France: ASMFF.
The draw will see the two Monegasque sides face each other once again, just three weeks after their first-ever league derby. On 20 September, Monaco United won that inaugural encounter 3-1, in a fiercely contested match that marked an important milestone in the history of women’s football in the Principality.
This time, the two teams will meet in the Coupe de France. Monaco United will be looking to build on their league victory and continue their run in this prestigious competition. Their emphatic win over Avignon therefore provides the squad with the ideal platform ahead of the encounter, with confidence further boosted by their position at the top of the league table. “It is always a pleasure to play in a match of this importance. History was already made a few weeks ago with the first-ever Monegasque derby. Our priority now is to prepare for this fourth round of the Coupe de France with the same professionalism and high standards as in previous rounds. Our approach to the week remains unchanged, as does our ambition: to approach the match with determination, give everything on the pitch and fight for the victory that will secure our qualification,” concluded Alexandre Gallet.
The match will take place next Sunday (18 October) at the Stade Didier-Deschamps, as Monaco United and ASMFF meet once again in a Monaco derby — this time for the first time in the Coupe de France.
