The Monte Carlo Cricket Club has officially been revived, marking an exciting new chapter for cricket in the Principality and the wider Riviera community.
Originally incorporated in 1992, the club had lain dormant for several years. However, with a growing international community in Monaco and an influx of new players eager to return to the sport, the Monte Carlo Cricket Club (MCCC) has now returned with renewed ambition and momentum.
The club recently played its first official fixture since its revival, travelling to the picturesque Provençal village of Entrecasteaux to face the local cricket club in a friendly match. Eleven players represented the MCCC on a sun-filled day of cricket, camaraderie, and sporting spirit, an important milestone in re-establishing the club’s presence in the region.
The legendary revived club is now actively seeking suitable practice and training facilities in and around Monaco as it looks to build a long-term cricketing programme for the local community.
The MCCC’s ambitions extend well beyond occasional fixtures. The club aims, over time, to establish youth, senior, and competitive teams capable of participating in local and wider European cricket leagues. The vision is to create a sustainable cricketing structure that welcomes players of all ages, nationalities and experience levels.
The club is now actively recruiting new members and encouraging anyone with an interest in cricket to get involved — whether they are experienced players or individuals who have not picked up a bat in years.
Annual membership is set at €50 per year. Members will receive their own cricket whites, while training facilities and shared cricket equipment will also be made available to all players.
