The biggest watch brands in the world gathered at the 27th Monaco Yacht Show to each unveil their unique time-keeping pieces which will be later auctioned off for charity.  The Principality was the first stop on a world tour for the watches, which will finish on the 11th of November in Geneva, where the watches will be sold with proceeds going towards neuromuscular disease research and the Monaco Association against Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.

“I am glad you used the term ‘Rybolovlev’ because the term ‘Monaco Gate’ is exaggerative. Secondly, I affirm my unwavering commitment to the rule of law, whose judicial institution is one of the pillars for every State of law, and this is also true in Monaco. Our judicial institution has been called into question in this complex case and it is my duty to defend this institution against all those who weaken it,” said Prince Albert II.

He also hoped for a more peaceful and serene judicial year ahead for the Principality’s magistrates.

For the first time ever, the Monegasque Special Olympics football team won the European trophy in Barcelona. They beat England (8-3), The Netherlands (12-0), and four-time winner of the Real Madrid competition, Spain (2-0). Monaco’s Special Olympics teams are part of an international movement of inclusion and community for athletes with intellectual disabilities.

‘Cure through Innovation’: The 31st Monaco Telethon has been officially launched

A team of volunteers and participants gathered at the Jardins d’Apolline to officially launch the 31st Monaco Telethon, which will take place at the beginning of December. Groups like the Harley Davidson Club, Union Cycliste de Monaco and ASM Volleyball gathered to take part in a Mannequin Competition, where participants had to keep as still as possible. The competition was filmed and streamed live on Facebook.

Flavien Foundation raises €27,000 for Childhood Cancer

The 4th Monaco Trott’n’Roll, where children drive scooters to raise money for the fight against childhood cancer, took place on Saturday.  In spite of a rainy morning, a team of 70 volunteers dressed in orange managed to raise 27,000 euros.  Plus, medical professionals from L’Archet Hospital in Nice were also on site to collect blood donations and register people onto a global marrow donation registry.  400 children participated in the various activities available at the event, which included a concert, a mini-bike course and face-painting.
