Roses and Plants Festival

And those who like flowers and gardening simply have to visit Roses and Plants Festival that is going on this weekend from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild. Rose growers, nursery gardeners, and garden professionals organise a rendez-vous Roses and Plants Festival in the Jardin à la Française (French-style garden), where their finest flowers and plants are displayed for garden lovers. Novice or more experienced gardeners are all welcome to come and take a stroll amidst a variety of ancient and contemporary varieties of climbing roses and ground cover plants. Alongside the rose growers and their colourful stands, other professionals are invited to place their stands in the alleys of the Jardin à la Française, where they will present rare plants, and exotic and Mediterranean flowers, irises, and citruses. For 2 days, the entire villa and its gardens will be buzzing with activity. Full rate is €15.

Théâtre des Muses this weekend presents “Grisélidis” by Grisélidis Real with Coraly Zahonero from the Comédie Française on Saturday 6 May, at 9 pm and Sunday 7 May, at 4.30 pm. One is a member of the Comedie-Française. The other Geneva writer, painter and… prostitute. One does not have enough of a life to express all that has on the mind. The other has lived a thousand. Both are  bright, flamboyant, feminist, humanistic. The meeting between these two intense beings could only be passionate, so that the creation of this show produced by and represented at the Studio-Théâtre de la Comédie-Française seems obvious. Burning, provocative, dazzling beauty, in a unique style made of rage and funny banter, chiseled poetry, the tangled stories of this “revolutionary whore” constitute a panting spectacle. Tickets are available at €18-€29.

Exhibition Michel Vailant in Monaco

Several interesting exhibitions just opened in Monaco. The exhibition Michel Vailant on May 4-9, 2017 in Grimaldi Forum pays tribute to two of the greatest legends of automotive history, namely Michel Vaillant and Monaco. Indeed, similarly to the work of Jean Graton, Monaco has become a mythical symbol of car racing. The Monaco Grand Prix and the Monte-Carlo Rallye have brought not only legendary racing tracks to the world of motorsports, but also unforgettable human exploits. These arenas of the drama of race car competition were represented by Jean Graton throughout his work, with Michel Vaillant having become, over sixty years, the cult comic book of automobile racings.

Monaco was represented many times by Jean Graton in the adventures of Michel Vaillant. We can observe, throughout the 70 albums of the exploits of this most famous of comic book race car drivers, the evolution of the most famous circuit in the world. The journey is fantastic, because this representation, a cross between a place and an original work, provides an original, creative, and technological vision of a sporting and artistic adventure. Espace Indigo – Free acces.

MCRoyal Expo Car Elegance 2017

Daily from 4 to 6 May, 9 am to 6 pm, Monaco Tops Cars Collection Museum presents MCRoyal Expo Car Elegance 2017, exhibition of collector’s automobiles, classic and prestige cars and artworks, organised by Monegasque team GrifoMC Group.

Borderline exhibition

Borderline exhibition by Philippe Pasqua just opened in the Oceanographique Museum of Monaco and will last till 30 September 2017. Philippe Pasqua’s monumental works, most of them custom made, go alongside the mythical collections of the place to create an unprecedented dialogue.

The art of Philippe Pasqua experiences the limit. He flirts with the edges, knows the limits and frees himself of them. Violent and immodest, his work jostles as much as it fascinates, placing the visitor in the face of a dilemma: to devour with the gaze or to turn away the eyes, reflex of defense more than indifference. “Philippe Pasqua questions, demands, disturbs, but never dismisses. The ideal detonator for raising awareness of marine and terrestrial life,” said Robert Calcagno, Director General of the Oceanographic Museum. If you want to learn about other exhibitions taking place in Monaco visit our Calendar.

Have a great weekend!
