Concert by talented young Canadians

On Saturday 7 October, at 8 pm as part of celebrations for the 150th Anniversary of Canada in Monaco, the Canadian Thanksgiving Gala Concert by talented young Canadians from the Classical world, including members of the Monte-Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra in Opéra de Monte-Carlo – Salle Garnier.

Another, very different from the previous one, Concert by the Cɶur des Trois Corniches conducted by Jean-Claude Scatena, in aid of the Telethon will take lace as well on Saturday 7 October, at 8.30 pm Théâtre des Variétés.

On the programme: Hallyday, Goldman, Verdi, ]ulien Clerc, Abba, etc.

And on Sunday 8 October, at 6 pm Auditorium Rainier III the Monte-Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra will continue its Great Season Series with a concert conducted by Lawrence Foster with Anne-Sophie Mutter, violin.

On the programme: Henri Dutilleux, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Franz Schubert. As a prelude to the concert, an introduction to the works at 5 pm by André Peyrègne.

Tickets range from €17 to €35.

Moving on to the other form involving music, there is “Munegu Country Event” ( Line Dance Workshops – Intermediate, novices and beginners) with British choreographers Kate Sala and Dee Musk on Saturday 7 October, from 12 pm to 6 pm Espace Léo Ferré. From 7.30 pm, dance evening.

Show for children

For children this weekend there is a show with the clowns Bobo & Rizotto, magic, gags and clowning in aid of the “Draw a Butterfly” (“Dessine un Papillon”) association on Sunday 8 October, at 4 pm Théâtre des Variétés.

Yacht Club of Monaco

There are two new exhibitions that deserve your attention. YA! Exhibition on the theme of “Yachting and Art organized by the Yacht Club of Monaco from Thursday 5 October to Saturday 7 October, Yacht Club de Monaco.

Exhibition on "The Golden Age of the Watercolourists"

And another one, that opened this week, Exhibition on “The Golden Age of the Watercolourists”, an exhibition of rare watercolors made between San Remo and Theoule, at a time when the Côte d’Azur was paradise in the eyes of the fortunate winterers, organised by the Federation of French Groups of Monaco from Tuesday 3 October to Saturday 4 November, Maison de France.

Artists watercolorists like Lessieux, Costa, Guiaud, Béthune, Harpignies and others have 3 floors of the House of France. Their works are embellished with numerous ceramics  by the Magnat, Tardieu, Saïssi and Dalpayrat in the great days of the Menton and Monaco pottery.

The exhibition features about fifteen artists, 75 watercolors, a dozen ceramics from the same period, floral and animal inspiration, gouaches and oils sharing the same motifs and festive banners.

Monday-Friday: 10 am-12 pm and 2 pm-6 pm
Saturday: 1 pm-5pm

For those who like to watch sports there is PRO A Basketball Championship: Monaco vs Asvelon Sunday 8 October at 6.30 pm Stade Louis II – Salle Omnisports Gaston Médecin.

And for those who prefer to act themselves there are ATHLETICS GAMES de Cap d’Ail by the World Class Fitness Club on October 7, 2017 are the 1st Sports Games of Cap d’Ail. A race against time when you will have to chain in a record time a succession of Sports, Athletics and Funs.

This race is for teams of two. It is open to all levels of sport. There will be Men’s, Women’s and Mixed’s rankings, as well as company challenge. This race is an opportunity for everyone to excel and for the best trained to perform. A unique opportunity to experience a strong sporting event through multi-sport activities such as Kayak, Running, Balance and Strength games…
