Sadly there has been a death reported on the worksite in Larvotto where the beach area is being upgraded with additional sand.
The incident took place in the centre of the construction zone, opposite the Bahia building, located on Avenue Princesse-Grace at about 9am Friday morning.
Reports are of a 60 year old worker succumbing after an accident involving a dump truck loaded with sand.
The area has been sealed off to allow for a full investigation by Public Security.
Reports include reference to cardiac massages being performed on the man, but that the emergency services could not revive him .
Nine firefighters and two staff from the CHPG (SMUR doctors) had intervened to help at the Larvotto work-site.
An investigation, led by the Public Security, is currently underway to determine what led to the accident. Hearings will now go ahead.
According to the Princely government, during the investigations the area concerned will remain fenced off and isolated from the rest of the site.
The Princely Government has presented its sincere condolences to the family of the victim.
