Monaco’s SBM and Dominique London, a leading company in the marketing of luxury cigars and spirits, are teaming up to create “one of the most beautiful clubs in the world for cigar lovers”. The new Monte-Carlo Cigar Club will be housed in the Monte-Carlo Casino and is set to open in spring 2025.

Located in the office of the SBM’s Founder…

The Monte-Carlo Cigar Club will be housed in a symbolic location, full of history, in the heart of the Casino: in the former office of François Blanc, who founded the Société des Bains de Mer in 1863.

The club’s size will be a little over 200 m2. An indoor section will feature a smoking room, a bar and a walk-in “humidor” (storage which keeps cigars moist). The outdoor section will be located on one of the most beautiful terraces in Monte-Carlo, facing the Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo and the Mediterranean sea. The decor has been entrusted to the Moinard Bétaille interior design agency, which also designed the One Monte-Carlo residences. The humidor will be designed by the DeART Company, a worldwide specialist in walk-in humidors.

“As an ultra-private club, access to the Monte-Carlo Cigar Club will be exclusively reserved for its members,” states a recent press release by the SBM.

“Savour the world’s best cigars in an outstanding setting”

The goal of the future establishment to become “the most beautiful Cigar Club in the world and the most exclusive” will be realized, according to the SBM, through the unique character of its location, its quality of luxury cigars and its access. The club plans to zero in on cigars which have been selected from the best producers of “long fillers” (whole leaf cigars, sought after for their slow, mellow burn) in the world: Cuba, Nicaragua, Dominican Republic, Costa Rica, Honduras, Peru… The long fillers will be at least three years old. The Monte-Carlo Cigar Club’s future humidor is set to be stocked with “no less than 35,000 luxury cigars”.

“This new project is part of the strategy of Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer, which in parallel with the Group’s international development, aims to offer new luxury experiences in Monaco, the historic birthplace of the Group, to keep the Monte-Carlo legend alive,” states a recent press release by the SBM.

Dominique London began its journey over 200 years ago as premium cigar merchants. Created by Dominique Gyselinck, the brand is currently present in England, Switzerland and Europe with 26 boutiques offering high-end cigars, spirits and luxury accessories.
